Assassin's Creed Unveils Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising collaboration that breaks conventional expectations, the game developer has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Disclosed
According to the official announcement, "A strange encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of banned ceremonies and monstrous changes resonate through the darkness." The plot presents a "strangely garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her ally from a clandestine cult.
The questline concentrates on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Changes
The teaser features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, probably the captive, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Bonus Features
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an special katana in addition to several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may ultimately shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla subtly contained a quest that obviously referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
